11/30/15   Christmas Parades This Week In Fordyce And Next Week In Bearden and Hampton

 

Tis' the season to be jolly, Christmas Day just 25 days away and several Christmas parades are planned for the area, beginning with the Fordyce Christmas parade coming up Thursday, Barbara Finley told us about the paradeand the chili supper and silent auction.

The silent auction winners will be announced following the parade.  The parade will line up at 6:30 at Beech Grove Baptist Church.  The theme of the parade is Joy to the World, The Lord Is Come, the three floats that best represent that theme will win cash prizes.  There is a $6.00 charge for the chili supper, tickets are available at the Chamber office or from any Chamber Board member.

Next week, two more parades will be held, the Bearden parade will be held Wednesday, December 9,  starting at 6pm.  All entrants should line up at the high school parking lot at 5:45.  For information, call Cleo Beard at 870-687-1451. And a community effort is underway in Bearden to collect canned food and toys to giveaway to the needy at Christmas.  They'll be distributed by Bearden Missionary Baptist Church.

The 2nd annual Calhoun County Christmas parade will be held Thursday, December 10,  at 6pm in Hampton.  A Christmas celebration will be held on the courthouse square following the parade. For an entry form or for more information, call Lillie Randall at 870-798-2150..or 870-818-2807.
