08/09/17  Cherris Faith Allbright Murderer Sentenced To Death

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the 13th Judicial District, Tom Wynne said the trial of 21 year old Brad Hunter Smith of Randall went relatively smoothly and only took a week.

Wynne said initially a jury pool of 170 were called, so many that the proceeding had to be moved to the Cleveland County Fair Grounds. Smith was charged in the death of Cherris Faith Allbright of Rison, who was pregnant when she was shot with a crossbow and struck twice on the head with a baseball bat. Her body was found in a shallow grave on December 10, 2015 off Rodger Road West. Two defendants in the case testified in Smith's trial. They have yet to have their cases come before a jury. Their next appearance in court is set for next month.
