07/31/17  Camden Woman Among Four Killed In Weekend Traffic


State Police investigated fatality car crashes in Ouachita, Benton and Sharp Counties over the weekend. Friday night in Ouachita County..31 year old Michelle N. Daniel of Camden died in a one vehicle crash on highway 7 north of Camden. According to State Police, a 2012 Hyundai, driven by 35 year old Joshua C. Haggood of Texarkana, Arkansas was northbound on highway 7 when Haggood lost control of the vehicle in a curve, left the road and struck a tree. Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene. Haggood was taken to UAMS in Little Rock for treatment. Weather conditions were clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash at 10:45 Friday night.  Sr.Corporal Billy L. Walker of the State Police investigated. .

Saturday morning in Benton County, 37 year old Jeffrey Johnson of Fayetteville died in a one car crash on I-49 north at exit 81. A preliminary State Police report states that Johnson was northbound on I-49 when his 2016 GMC left the road, ran into a field and overturned. Johnson was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Benton County Coroner. Weather conditions were clear, road dry at the time of the crash at 6:21 Saturday morning. State Trooper Randall W. Schwab investigated.

Two Paragould residents died in a three vehicle crash in Sharp County on Saturday. 59 year old Laughingbear McHaud and Kathy McHaud of Paragould were both killed in the crash and a driver of another vehicle, 52 year old David Clark of Paragould was injured. The report indicates that McHaud's Harley Davidson motorcycle was north bound on highway 63, crossed the center line striking a 4 Runner headed south. Another Harley Davidson motorcycle, also northbound hit the McHaud's bike. Clark was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment. The McHaud's died at the scene. Weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 12:43 Saturday afternoon. Corporal Phillip Roark of the State Police investigated. It was Arkansas' 278th and 279th traffic fatalities of the year.
