07/28/17  Sales Tax Holiday First Weekend In August

The 7th annual tax holiday will be observed in Arkansas Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6. The event was held for the first time in 2011 and is held the first weekend in August each year.

The sales tax holiday is a temporary period when state and local taxes are not collected or paid on the purchase of certain products. The holiday was designed to help parents, students and families in advance of the new school year to save on many items. However, anyone can take advantage of the savings by not having to pay sales tax on certain items on August 5 and 6.
