Deputy prosecutor for the 13th Judicial district, Phillip A. Stone, filed three criminal cases in Ouachita County Circuit Court on July 24. Charges of 3rd degree domestic battery were filed against 37 year old Toni Smith of Camden. Smith was charged following an altercation between Smith and her pregnant daughter Shanna Harris. According to a report filed in court, Harris came over to her mother's house and began removing her belongings when the two got into an argument about whose belongings were whose. Harris claims her mother suddenly attacked her and attempted to choke her and pushed her down and then kicked her in the stomach. Harris is 7 months pregnant. Smith was arrested and charged. The incident occurred on June 1. June 12, Camden police charged 21 year old Javarius R. Larcks of Camden with possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges came following a traffic stop that was made after an officer noticed that the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt. Following the stop and search of the vehicle, police found a pill bottle containing marijuana, a pipe for smoking marijuana and a bag containing three large bags of marijuana individually packaged for sale. Larcks admitted the bag was his. Police also found a digital scale and sandwich bags used for the sale of marijuana. Stone filed criminal charges against Larcks in circuit court. 40 year old Fredrick B. Gilmore of Camden has been charged in circuit court in Camden with commercial burglary and theft of property. Police were called to Wal-Mart on June 22, on a shoplifting report. Upon investigation police were told Gilmore, who had been banned from Wal-Mart, had been spotted in the store taking two 24 ounce cans of Bud Light. Police apprehended Gilmore on the street with the two cans of beer. He was arrested and charged. |
