07/25/17  Two More Die On State Highways


Two more people died in traffic crashes this past weekend. According to a State Police report, early Friday morning in Fayetteville 23 year old Tara Elizabeth Pritchett of Fayetteville was driving a 2015 Scooter eastbound on West Persimmon street in Fayetteville near the intersection with North Mt. Ranch Road. Another vehicle was traveling north of North Mt. Ranch road. Pritchett's scooter struck the left side of the unknown vehicle.

Pritchett was taken to Washington Regional Hospital where she died of her injuries. The other drive was not identified in the report and was apparently not injured. Weather conditions were clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash at 4:38 Friday morning. The Fayetteville PD investigated. It was Arkansas' 268 traffic fatality.

Earlier Friday morning a 64 year old League City, Texas man was killed in Sharp County in a crash involving three vehicles. According to the State Police report, Michael White of League City, Texas died following a head-on crash on highway 167 at Ash Flat.

The report states that a Ford F150 was northbound on 167, White and a BMW-Z3 were southbound on 167. The truck crossed the center line and struck White and the BMW head on. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured. White died at the scene.  The weather was clear..roadway dry at the time of the crash at 12:45am on Friday morning. The Sharp County Sheriff's office investigated. It was Arkansas' 267 traffic fatality of the year.
