07/19/17  Dallas County Quorum Court

The Dallas County Quorum Court met for their regular meeting last night at the Dallas County Courthouse. County Treasurer Leslie Nutt reported on the status of the funds available in County General and Road Fund.

Sheriff Stan McGahee had another good report for the JP's.

McGahee said half way thru the year he's only spent 48.84 percent of his budget, a savings in his opinion.

Dallas County Hospital Administrator Ken Sanders told the JP's there's a serious shortage of nurses, not only in South Arkansas but state wide. He said a recent report indicated that hospitals in Central Arkansas are short about 700 nurses. Sanders also reported that security continues to be beefed up at the hospital with more cameras and monitors being added. He said they're still waiting on repairs to be completed on the roof that was recently damaged by winds.
