07/18/17  $472,000.00 Low Bid For Artificial Turf At Rison

In a special called meeting last week, the Cleveland County School Board approved a low bid of $472,000.00 for the installation of artificial turf on Wildcat Stadium at Rison. In an interview earlier in the month, Rison head football coach Clay Totty said the bids went as high as $800,000.00. According to Rison Superintendent Johnny Johnson the successful bidder was a Kansas Company. Head Wildcat Coach Clay Totty is excited about the new turf and told us the improvements would benefit more than just the football team.

The field will be renamed and dedicated on September 23,  in honor of George Walker, former Wildcat and Razorback football player who's been a big supporter of the football program in Rison. Walker now resides in Pine Bluff but still attends many of the games.
