07/11/17  Arkansas Highway Death Toll Climbs to 250


 Arkansas'  highway death toll has climbed to 250 with the death of a Tahlequah, Oklahoma resident in Pulaski County yesterday. According to a State Police report, 69 year old Betty Kingfisher of Tahlequah, Oklahoma died of her injuries following the collision of her 2014  Dodge pickup truck and a 2012 Mercedes being driven by 34 year old Muhathab Alami of Lexington, Kentucky.

The report states both vehicles were traveling west on I-40 when Alami's vehicle struck the rear bumper of the Kingfisher truck causing the Mercedes to leave the highway and overturn.

Betty Kingfisher and her husband, 74 year old Jack Kingfisher were extricated from their vehicle and taken to UAMS. Mrs. Kingfisher died of her injuries. Weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 3:09 yesterday morning. Trooper First Class Jerry Olgesby of the State Police investigated.
