07/06/17  Fordyce Waterline Replacement Project Complete

Work has been completed on the replacement of about 24 hundred feet of old water lines in Fordyce, at a cost of nearly $75,000.00. Bids for the project were opened in January on the project that replaced or tied in larger lines in the area of Willow, Church, Humphries and Smith Streets.

The existing one inch lines were replaced with new six inch lines. The larger lines will improve water flow and some pressure to the area with the old lines. Funding for the project came from issuing water and sewer bonds in 2015 to pay a USDA rural development loan with the main project being refurbishment of the city's primary water tank. That was completed in 2016.
