06/29/17  18 Miles Of Cleveland County Roads To Get New Surface

Cleveland County Judge Gary Spears says some Cleveland County residents could encounter delays as the county's 2017 road improvement project gets underway. Spears says the contractor has said he'll be ready to move into Cleveland County in the next several weeks to do the chip sealing of about 18 miles of road.

The chip-and-seal process consists of covering the existing road surface with a layer of oil and then applying a layer of gravel to create a new surface. The county will be investing about $600,000.00 in improving about 18 miles of county roadways using the chip-and-seal method.
