06/20/17  AEA President Talks About "Every Student Succeeds Act"

On KQ-102.3's "South Arkansas Today" program yesterday, Arkansas Education Association President, Brenda Robinson talked about some of the topics to be discussed at this year's National Education Association's annual meeting and representative assembly.

One of the topics to be discussed is the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act.  Fordyce Superintendent Dr. Albert Snow, in an earlier interview expressed his concerns about the punitive measures that existed under "No Child Left Behind".  Robinson explained the difference between ESSA and No Child Left Behind.

A couple other topics the educators will discuss during their meeting will be racial and social justice and helping new educators entering public schools this fall. The meeting will be held in Boston June 25 through July 5.
