06/16/17  Rison Juneteenth Celebration Today And Tomorrow

The 18^th annual Juneteenth celebration, sponsored by the Lanwood-Risonian Civic/Social Club in Rison will be held today and tomorrow in Rison with an R&B concert tonight at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. The concert will feature JC “The New King of Funk” as special guest.

The concert will be held tonight from 7-10pm. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the gate.  Tickets are available at the Cleveland County Herald or from any Lanwood-Risonian Civic/Social Club member.

In a recent interview, Jametta Harper explained some of  the goals of the club.

Harper said the activities tomorrow will kick off at 10am with a parade in downtown Rison. Contact Penny Morris about being a vendor or being in the parade.
