06/15/17  Juneteenth At Rison

The 18^th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, sponsored by the Lanwood-Risonian Civic and Social Club of Rison will be held Friday and Saturday in Rison with an R & B Concert, featuring JC,”The New King of Funk” as special guest. The concert will be held tomorrow (Friday) night from 7-10pm at the Cleveland County Fair Grounds. The price of a ticket is $10.00 in advance $15.00 at the gate.

Tickets are on sale now at the Cleveland County Herald, Fathers and Son and the Record Rack in Pine Bluff or you can get tickets from any Lanwood Risonian Civic and Social Club member. On Saturday beginning at 10am on Main Street in Rison there will be a parade.

After the parade, the celebration continues at Powell Park with lots of activates beginning at 11am. There will be vendors, speakers, fun and games for the kids. Many gospel groups will be featured. Anyone interested in being in the parade or being a vendor should contact Andrew Roshell Jr. or Penny Morris. Juneteenth T-Shirts will also be available.
