Deputy Prosecutor R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed charges on May 30,  in Ouachita County Circuit Court against 33 year old Cameron D. Porchia of Camden. According to information filed with the court,  on April 10, Porchia was charged by Camden Police with aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, meth and hydrocodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Porchia is alleged to have threatened Billy Curtis of Camden, threatening to shoot him following an altercation between the two. A witness backed up Curtis' story. Police searched Porchia's vehicle where it had been impounded and found a magazine for a .380 handgun. They also found meth residue, digital scales and hydrocodone. Porchia's case was bound over to Circuit Court.

Sawyer also filed charges against 20 year old Michael Wayne Scott Jr. of Camden. According to a police report, on April 18, Scott was charged with aggravated assault two counts. And two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Edward Jones told investigators Michael Scott pointed a gun at Jones and a girl friend while they were stopped at a stop sign at Lincoln Drive and Highway 7. Jones said Scott attempted to pull the trigger but the gun misfired. Jones then sped away.

Jones said he and Scott got into it at an apartment complex after Scott struck a woman and Jones stepped in. Police issued a warrant for Scott's arrest on April 21. We have no more information on that case.
