06/05/17  Warren Man Dies In Two Vehicle Accident

 

A 34 year old Warren man has died following a two-vehicle accident on I-40 in Crawford County. The Arkansas State Police report stated that Marlon A. Jackson of Warren was killed Friday night shortly before midnight in the eastbound lanes of I-40. According to the report, both vehicles involved were traveling eastbound on I-40 when a 2006 Saab driven by 18 year old James Jackson of Ft Smith, attempted to pass a 2002 Ford Escape in the outside lane, both vehicles lost control and entered the median and overturned. Jackson, a passenger in the Ford Escape was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured. The driver of the Ford Escape was not identified in the report. 19 year old Kendarious Lacy of Warren, a passenger in the Ford was injured and taken to a Ft. Smith Hospital. Weather conditions were clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash shortly before midnight Friday night. Jackson's death was Arkansas' 196 traffic fatality of the year.

Another fatality occurred Friday night in Pulaski County on I-30 east at  Broadway. 20 year old Christopher Wayne Dufour of Collierville, Tennessee was killed attempting to cross I-30. A Honda Civic struck Dufour and the Honda was struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry also headed east. The drivers of the vehicles were not identified. Weather conditions were clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash Friday night at 11:30. State Trooper Nathan Williams investigated.
