05/29/17  Camden Police Report

 

A 53 year old Camden woman has been charged with driving on a suspended license, DWI and failure to pay registration fee.  According to a Camden police report, on May 20, officer Blake Norwood was dispatched to California near the bowling alley on a report of a vehicle leaving Performance Chevrolet at a high rate of speed. The report indicated that the hood of the vehicle flew up, blocking the driver's view. According to the report the suspect was believed to be Barbie Nowlin. Police had responded to two calls at Performance on the day before and advised Nowlin not to be driving due to her license being suspended. When Norwood caught up to Nowlin's vehicle it was near the intersection of Fairview and Mt Holly Road with it's emergency lights on. The hood had flown up and smashed the windshield. Nowlin was in the drivers seat and was taken into custody without incident. Barbie Nowlin was charged with driving on a suspended license, DWI and failure to pay registration fee. Her husband Paul Nowline was issued a citation for permitting an unauthorized person to drive. Nowlin is to appear in court June 21.

May 20,  42 year old Michael H. Carroll of El Dorado was charged with DWI, 1st offense and refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test. Carroll was pulled over at a sobriety check point on Fairview Road at the intersection of Old Wire Road. He was issued a citation on each charge with a court date of July 19.

Another DWI arrest was made by Camden police on May 21st at a sobriety check point on highway 24 north, at the intersection of Maul Road. After sobriety tests, 33 year old Ulyses Eugene Carroll of Camden was taken into custody for DWI. His blood alcohol level was .16. It was Carroll's second DWI charge. He'll appear in court July 19.

May 17, 63 year old Henretta A. Flint of Bearden was charged with shoplifting at Wal-Mart in Camden. Flint was spotted by a loss prevention officer stuffing merchandise into her purse that she didn't pay for at check out. She'll appear in District Court in Camden on June 21.
