05/22/17  Three Fatal Crashes Bring The State's Total To 182

 

Three more fatal crashes occurred over the weekend in Arkansas. On Friday in Pulaski County a 56 year old Alexander woman died when she was attempting to cross the west bound lanes of I-30. The report states that Kimberly Warren of Alexander was walking south across the westbound lanes of I-30 when she was struck by two vehicles. She was dead at the scene of the accident.  The weather conditions were cloudy, the roadway dry at the time of the accident at 11:47 pm Friday night. Corporal Jeffrey Plouch of the State Police investigated.

On Saturday in Yell county, a 19 year year old died in a head-on crash on highway 27, north of slo fork road. According to State Police, a 2006 Chevy Cobalt driven by Mario Rebollar of Danville was northbound on highway 27and a 2003 Lincoln Aviator, driven by 33 year old Darryl Barren of Danville was south bound. Barren crossed the center line striking Rebollar's vehicle head-on. An unidentified minor male, a passenger in Barren's vehicle was injured. All were taken to a Russellville hospital for treatment where Rebollar died of his injuries. Weather conditions were cloudy, the roadway wet at the time of the crash early Saturday morning at 12:30. State Trooper Kyle M. Johnson investigated.

A fatality recorded as Arkansas 182 traffic death of the year occurred last Thursday. It was a one vehicle crash that occurred in Benton County on highway 59 at Chesney Road. The report states that a 2015 Chevy truck driven by 67 year old Floyd Gutherie of Gentry, Arkansas was southbound on highway 59, left the roadway, went through a ditch and several driveways before coming to a stop. Gutherie died at the scene. The weather was clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash at 5:22 Thursday morning. Corporal W.K. Trevathan of the State Police investigated.
