A number of criminal charges were filed in Ouachita County Circuit Court recently..

On April 27, deputy prosecuting attorney R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed charges against 24 year old Nicko Michael Freeman of Camden. On March 22, Camden police charged Freeman with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, maintaining a residence for the purpose of trafficking in drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by certain persons. Police executed a search warrant on an apartment in the Lincoln Center and arrested Freeman on a parole warrant. A search of the residence revealed crack cocaine packaged in individual bags, marijuana packed in bags, 18 packs of K2, digital scales $607.00 in currency and 4 guns. Freeman is a convicted felon having several felony convictions including aggravated robbery.

On May 1, deputy prosecutor Phillip A. Stone filed charges in Ouachita county circuit court against 45 year old Derrick E. Parham of Camden.  On March 25, Camden police charged Parham with terroristic threatening, 3rd degree domestic battery, interfering with emergency communications and endangerment of a minor. Camden police were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of Missouri Street. While in route to the scene officers were advised that the suspect, Derrick Parham had fled the scene. Police made a traffic stop on highway 7 at Fairview Road and took Parham into custody and found a firearm behind his seat. Police made contact with the victim and saw several bullet holes in the back door of a residence on Missouri street. The victim stated that Parham got jealous because the victim was talking on the phone to a relative that he thought was another man, the victim left Parham's vehicle. Parham chased her, took her phone and struck her. The victim said when she got back home Parham was already there cleaning out his stuff. The door was locked behind Parham when he exited the house, he got upset because he couldn't get back in the home and shot the back door several times and kicked it in, gathered up the rest of his stuff and left. Parham was released on bond April 27.
