05/03/17  A Pedestrian Struck And Killed Monday

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Garland County on May 1, at about 15 minutes past midnight. The pedestrian was a minor, a male, from Hot Springs.

A 2008 Acura TSX was westbound on the Martin Luther King Expressway-U.S. 270, traveling in the outside lane and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the Garland County Coroner. The driver of the vehicle was not identified in the State Police report.

The weather was clear, roadway dry at the time of the accident at 12:15am Monday morning. The accident was investigated by the Hot Springs Police Department. It was the 157^th traffic fatality of the year, the first in the month of May.
