05/01/17 National Weather Service Issues Flood Warning For Ouachita County

 

The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a flood warning for residents living along the Ouachita River, the warning was issued on Saturday and not only affects Ouachita County and property along the Ouachita River, but also in the area of Thatcher Lock and Dam. Bradley, Calhoun and Union county's are included as well.

The Ouachita river at Camden is forecast to crest at 34 feet on Wednesday, 8 feet above flood stage. The forecast was based on heavy rainfall that was predicted to fall on Saturday. State Highway 7 at Camden floods at 30 feet, Sandy Beach will go underwater, some county roads north and east of Camden flood. When the river reaches 34 feet the Harmony Grove community has flood problems. Many low lying roads flood making access to residential areas possible only by boat.
