04/28/17  Rabies Clinics Going On This Weekend

A rabies clinic in Dallas County is scheduled for tomorrow, sponsored by the Dallas County 4-H program and Fordyce animal clinic. Dallas County Extension agent Keith Gresham says there are eight different locations throughout the county where you can take your cat or dog to get a rabies vaccination.

Gresham says the fee is $8.00 per animal.

State law requires all cats and dogs four months of age or older to be vaccinated against rabies. Only shots given by a veterinarian are recognized by the state.

The Cleveland County Extension service will be holding a rabies clinic tomorrow as well. Cleveland County Extension Agent Les Walz said residents can bring their cats or dogs to the nearest location to have them vaccinated by an accredited veterinarian.

Here's the schedule:

8am at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church on highway 35, south of Rison. At 9:15 tomorrow morning at Rye Fire Department.

10am at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church parking lot at Calmer.
