81 year old William Murphy Jones Jr. of Pine Bluff passed away Tuesday. He was raised and received his early education in Hamburg.  In 1958 he and his wife “Sissy” moved to Atlanta where Murphy attended Georgia Tech and obtained his electrical engineering degree. He accepted a job with AP&L, which later became Entergy.

While at Entergy he had an opportunity to work as an electrical engineer for the distribution company ESCOM in Johannesburg, South Africa for 5 years. Upon returning, he rejoined the family business as secretary-treasurer and became an integral part of advertising and marketing with the expanded growth of Sissy's Log Cabin. 

Visitation will be this Sunday, April 30,  from 5-7pm at Ralph Robinson and  Son with funeral services at 2:30 Monday afternoon at Lakeside Methodist Church with Reverends Steve Wingo and Pamela Jean Estes officiating. Burial will be at Gillett Cemetery at Gillet at 10:30 preceding the services at Lakeside. Ralph Robinson and Son in charge of arrangements.
