04/26/17 Fordyce Police Blotter
According to Fordyce Police Chief Jimmy Vaughn, Fordyce police officers made a total of 8 arrests between April 17 and 24. On April 18, Officer Bryce McKinney arrested Webster Joemond Brown of Fordyce and charged him with criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver and possession of a schedule four narcotic.
April 19, officer John Cutrell responded to 1115 Chester Street seeking Darnika Preston on a failure to appear charge and an affidavit warrant for theft of property. Preston was taken into custody and taken to the Fordyce Police Department. Charges against her include failure to appear, theft of property, driving on a suspended license, criminal impersonation, driving with no vehicle license, obstructing governmental operations by refusing to provide information, driving with defective brakes and failure to pay registration fee. Mrs. Preston was given a court date of May 11. She was transported to the Ouachita County jail with bond set at $3,798.57.
April 19, officer Bryce McKinney charged William Knight of Fordyce with criminal trespass, possession of a schedule 6 narcotic, fleeing, possession with the purpose to deliver and possession of a schedule 5 or 6 narcotic.
April 20, officer Chad Hubanks charged Deperrice Owens of Fordyce with disorderly conduct, using abusive or obscene speech.
District Court Judge Ronnie Phillips issued warrants for several individuals who failed to appear in court. Warrants were issued for Waylon Charles Morris of Smackover, Jaliyah T. Cooper of Fordyce and Willie Gene Russell of Kingsland for failure to appear. A warrant was issued for Dale Edwin Shaw of Carthage on a contempt of court charge.
