04/19/17  Camden Police Report

59 year old Jessie E. McKenzie of Camden has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. The charge came following a traffic stop by Camden police.

Officer Justin Harper said he observed McKenzie swerving in and out of the traffic lane on Lincoln Drive and pulled him over. Harper could smell intoxicants on McKenzie who stated he had been drinking malt liquor. After a field sobriety test, McKenzie was placed under arrest for DWI. After a search was conducted of McKenzie's vehicle, police found a black cigar holder with a leafy green substance, believed to be marijuana, rolled up in tobacco paper.

McKenzie was arrest for DWI and possession of a controlled substance and given a citation for no proof of insurance, failure to pay registration and driving left of center. McKenzie is to appear in court May 17.
