04/17/17  Today Is First Day Of Week Long Fordyce Cotton Belt Festival

 

The 37th annual Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival kicks off today, wrapping up with the big day on Saturday April 22. In a conversation on KQ-102.3's "South Arkansas Today" recently Cotton Belt Festival director, Mike Trammell said his job is a lot easier because of the great volunteers that take charge every year.

Trammell outlined the entertainment that will be featured downtown on the Courthouse lawn, tonight, Tuesday night and Thursday night.

Johnson's Amusement Carnival will be set up in the Courthouse area Thursday through Saturday. Lots of activities are scheduled for Friday including the model train display. Arts and Crafts show at Temple Baptist Church, the Redbug alumni Association Golf tournament at Fordyce Country Club, the ribbon cutting for the Smithsonian Institute Exhibit at the Dallas County Museum at 1pm. The Dallas County Museum Garden Party at 2pm at the Wynne-Phillips House and the Redbug Reunion Rally at 5pm at the Fordyce Civic Center. That night from 7-9pm the Grayson Goff Band on stage at the courthouse.
