04/14/17  Fordyce On The Cotton Belt Begins Monday

The 37th annual Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival kicks off Monday in  Fordyce and runs all week through Saturday 22. On KQ-102.3's South Arkansas Today program, Cotton Belt Festival Director Mike Trammel said the big fund raiser for the event is the sale of T-shirts.

Trammel said the festival headquarters building downtown opened Monday and you can stop by today and get your t-shirt.

Trammel said on the final day of the festival the Home Town team display from the Smithsonian Institute will open at the museum.

Joe Bill Meador, who directed the festival for many years, says he's still going to be involved in the Red Bug reunion this year.

Richard Ledbetter takes charge each year in lining up the entertainment for the festival and corrected the name of one of the bands.
