04/14/17  Highway Fatality Yesterday Brings States Toll Up To 135

 

As of yesterday, 135 people had died on Arkansas highways in motor vehicle accidents. The latest reported fatality was yesterday morning in St. Francis County. According to a State Police report, 29 year old James M. Mickerson II of Marion, Arkansas died when his 2014 Toyota Camry ran into the rear end of a 2014 Freightliner truck on I-40 westbound at mile marker 256.

According to the report, both vehicles were westbound on I-40, the truck had slowed down for an accident ahead of him, Mickerson did not stop and  rear-ended the truck's trailer. Mickerson died of his injuries. The driver of the truck was not identified. Weather conditions were clear..the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 713 yesterday morning. State Trooper First Class Steve Roberts investigated.
