04/12/17  North Little Rock Man Charged With Dallas County Burglaries

 

A 28 year old North Little Rock man has been charged in Dallas County Circuit court in connection with two Dallas County Break-ins on February 23.  Jewel Lamont Spencer has a long criminal record and was charged after he broke into two Dallas County residences and then fled from authorities.

One of the break-ins occurred at the residence of Amy Wallace at 29 Dallas 119 in the Ramsey neighborhood. Spencer took credit cards, jewelry and prescription drugs from the Wallace home.

Spencer is also accused of broking into the home of Roger K. Williams on highway 8.

Spencer was spotted in the Ramsey neighborhood by a rural mail carrier who reported it to the Dallas County Sheriff's office. Sheriff Stand McGahee and a deputy went to investigate, spotted Spencer and the chase was on. The chase began around 11 am and ended with Spencer's apprehension around 9:30 that night on Dallas County Road 113.

Spencer was charged with two counts of residential burglary, two counts of theft of property, one count of possession of hydrocodone, fleeing and  possession of a firearm by a felon. The weapon in Spencer's possession, a 40 caliber Glock handgun was found under the hood of his car and was confirmed stolen in Clinton, Arkansas.

 According to records, Spencer has his name on 64 violations of the law, ranging from traffic violations to felonies. He will be tried under the habitual criminal statute. Spencer's bond was set at $500,000.00 bond. Court records indicate that he paid his bond and was released. He has yet to appear for plea and arraignment.
