24 year old Christian Blake King of Fordyce has been charged in Dallas County Circuit Court with breaking and entering and theft of property. King is charged with stealing a 1997 Buick Lasabre parked in front of the Fordyce Post office on January 28. The vehicle belonged to Calvin Outlaw of Warren. The stolen vehicle was found at the Links residence on Ouachita County Road 83 outside Bearden. Mrs. Links told an investigator that a man identifying himself as King drove into her driveway and claimed he was having problems with his vehicle and asked her permission to work on it there. After Mrs. Link gave her permission, King locked up the car and took the keys and left. Mrs. Link contacted Bearden police and the vehicle was towed back to Fordyce. Charges were filed against King in circuit court on March 20.

On March 17, Dallas County Deputy prosecutor Tom Wynne filed charges of 1^st degree battery against 45 year old Johnny Edwards Coffman of Little Rock. Coffman is alleged to have cut Robert Brooks of Bearden after a confrontation between the two men. Brooks was badly cut and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
