03/17/17  15-Year-Old Passenger Dies In Two Vehicle Collision

The 89^th traffic death of 2017 occurred in Craighead County on Wednesday. According to a preliminary State Police report. a 1998 Chevy driven by 18 year old Dustin Harmon of Hoxie was headed south on highway 63, when it crossed the center line into the path of a 2011 Ford, driven by 67 year old Carol Shearon of Hardy, Arkansas.

A 15 year old passenger in the Harmon vehicle was killed. Shearon and a six year old and three year old passenger in Shearon's car, along with Harmon were treated for their injuries at a Memphis, Tennessee hospital.

Weather conditions were clear..the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 4:34 Wednesday afternoon. State Trooper Caleb Landreth investigated.
