03/15/17  Investigation Continues Into The Thurman Bell Shooting Death

The Arkansas State Police continue their investigation into the shooting death on March 6,  of 49 year old Thurman Bell of Fordyce.  Special Agents of the department's Criminal Investigation Division have confirmed the homicide was preceded by a sexual assault on another person at the residence where the shooting occurred.

According to an earlier State Police report, Bell was shot inside a residence outside Fordyce around 10pm on Monday, March 6.  Bell was pronounced dead at the scene and his body transported to the State Crime Lab to determine the manner and cause of death.

Information released by the State Police information office indicates once the investigation is complete and all reports have been submitted from the State Crime Lab, the investigation file will be turned over to the Dallas County prosecutor's office to consider whether there may be any statutory charges arising from the incident.
