03/10/17  New York Woman Jailed In Arkansas

Authorities say a body found in a suitcase at a farm in central Arkansas appears to be that of an elderly man who died in upstate New York. Johnstown, New York Police Lt. Dave Gilbo says police suspect the man died of natural causes, but investigators don't yet know why his body was taken more than one thousand miles to the farm in Des Arc.

Wednesday evening, Special Agents assigned to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division arrested 56 year old Virginia Colvin of Johnstown, who had been the subject of a search in connection with the discovery of human remains in rural Prairie County earlier this week. Colvin was located at a Perry County residence and transported to Prairie County jail where she's being held in connection with the abuse of a corpse.

Michael Strivers, who's being held at the Lonoke County jail on charges unrelated to the discovery of the body, is being questioned by State Police investigators. No other suspects are being sought in Arkansas in connection with the case.
