03/08/17  Fordyce Woman Arrested On Drug Charges

 

A 53 year old Fordyce woman has been arrested and charged by Fordyce police with possession of Tramadol with the purpose to deliver. According to information filed by Fordyce police officer Chad Hubanks, on March 3, he was dispatched to Wal-Mart on a suspicious activity report.

Wal-Mart manger Mellissa Davis said she overheard two females in the restroom, one selling the other prescription medication. Davis checked with the pharmacy and was told Karen Wilson had picked up the prescription and agreed to sell Brenda Drake some pills.

When confronted by officer Hubanks, Drake said she had bought some Tramadol from Mrs. Wilson for $5.00 because her prescription had run out. Mrs. Drake's name was run through dispatch and she had an active warrant out for her arrest. Drake was taken into custody and 17 Tramadol's were placed into evidence. Mrs. Drake will appear in District court in Fordyce on April 13.
