80 year old Thomas James Ballard of Pine Bluff passed away Saturday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Tommy began teaching school in Dumas, Wells Bayou and Selma, Arkansas. After that he moved to Wilmar, where he coached senior and junior high boys and girls' basketball for ten years. Finally, he worked as a history teacher at Watson Chapel High School, as well as coaching girls' basketball and track teams for most of his career.

Visitation will be today from 12:30 till 2pm at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2pm at the church. A private family burial will take place at Walnut Lake Cemetery this morning. Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff in charge of arrangements.
