03/02/17  Head-on Collision Claims Marianna Woman

A 66 year old Marianna woman died in a head-on crash on Tuesday in Phillips County. According to State Police report, a 2014 Dodge charger driven by 25 year old Marcus Nealy of Lexa, Arkansas, was headed south on state highway one, and crossed the centerline, striking a northbound 1998 Dodge Ram driven by 74 year old Lillie Lott of Marianna head-on.

A passenger in Lott's vehicle, 66 year old Georgia Prater of Marianna was killed. The injured were taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment.

Weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 12:56pm Tuesday afternoon. State Trooper First Class Corey Skarda investigated. It was Arkansas' 74 the traffic fatality of the year.
