02/27/17  14-Year-Old Girl Dies In Pine Bluff Auto Accident

 

According to a State Police report a 14 year old girl died in a one vehicle crash in Pine Bluff early Saturday morning.  Apparently a 2010 Mercury, driven by an unidentified 17 year old male, was northbound on Olive Street at 45 Avenue, when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Two other minor passengers in the vehicle were injured in addition to 18 year old Napoleon Strong of Pine Bluff.

The injured were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 14 year old girl died at the scene. Weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 2:16am Saturday morning. Officer Joe Anderson of the Pine Bluff Police investigated. That was the 67 fatality of the year on Arkansas roadways.

The 66th fatality of the year occurred in Fulton County on Friday afternoon. 85 year old Jearl W. Ford of Viola died when his 1994 Dodge, headed south on state highway 223, left the road and struck a culvert about 5 miles north of U.S. 62. The weather conditions were clear, roadway dry at the time of the crash at 2:45 Friday afternoon. State Trooper R. Villiger investigated.
