02/22/17  Two More Traffic Deaths On Arkansas Highways

 

Two traffic fatalities were recorded in Arkansas on Monday. 28 year old Justin K. Dixon of Russellville died when his 2010 Kawasaki, southbound on highway 27, west of Hector, failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the road and struck a mailbox. Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene by Pope County Coroner Danny White. Weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 2:25 Monday afternoon. State Police Corporal Brian K. Johnson investigated.

In Carroll County, a 32 year old Green Forest man died and two others were injured in a two car collision on highway 412. According to a State Police report, a 2011 Buick, driven by 53 year old Melinda Jones of Van Buren was traveling east on highway 412, a 1991 Chevy driven by Bobby Johnson of Green Forest was headed west.

The Jones vehicle crossed the double yellow lines striking Johnson's vehicle. The injured were taken to a Springfield, Missouri Hospital. Johnson died of his injuries. A female minor child, a passenger in the Jones vehicle was injured. Weather conditions were cloudy, the roadway dry at the time of the crash at 3:47 Monday afternoon. State Trooper Drew H.
