In Circuit Court in Camden, 33 year old Jonathan Hawkins of Camden was charged with failing to register as a sex offender and filing false paperwork. On October 9, 2006, Hawkins was found guilty of 4th degree sexual assault and was sentenced to 6 years and required to register as a sex offender. Hawkins last completed a report in January 2016 and was to appear in person June 30 of last year but failed to appear. He appeared in court December 9 of 2016 and was charged.

32 year old Marcus Lavel Porchia of Camden has been charged in circuit court in Camden with simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, possession of meth or cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon. On January 20, Porchia was arrested in Ivory Heights apartment complex for disobeying a ban against him being there.

When police arrived they saw Porchia leaning up against a truck and when they motioned for him to come to them, he dropped something in the bed of the truck. Police upon investigation of what it was that Porchia dropped found a Taurus 38 special handgun in the bed of the truck along with a bag containing a small bag of suspected meth and 18 empty small baggies tied together.

Porchia's record indicates he was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 2013. In 2006 he was charged with 2nd degree escape and given a 3 year suspended sentence.  On January 23, after appearing in court on the charges, Porchia was released on $50,000.00 bond.

33 year old Ricky “Cole” Pennington of 431 Plum in Bearden has been charged in Ouachita County Circuit Court in Camden with theft by receiving and fleeing. On October 13, Dallas County authorities took a report of a stolen ATV belonging to William Lyon of Fordyce who said it was taken from his deer camp off highway 8 in Dallas county. On October 26, Ouachita County deputy Jared Browlee and Bearden Police Chief went to Ricky Pennington's residence on Plum street to check on a suspect, when Pennington saw the officers coming, he ran from the residence and got on an ATV and took off at a high rate of speed. Pennington was apprehended a short distance away and charged after it was determined the ATV he was riding was the one Lyon reported stolen. Pennington also had a warrant for him out of Fordyce for failure to appear.

 

 










47 year old Jerry W. Hammonds of Sparkman and 31 year old Kristy Nichole


Hall of Arkadelphia have been charged in Dallas County Circuit court with


residential burglary and theft of property in the break-in at the home of Jeanie


Denise Hammonds of Sparkman. The incident occurred on December 12th of


2016.


Hammonds record shows he had been sentenced to 5 years of SIS..which is


suspended imposition.

43 year old Christy Ann Cross of Arkadelphia has been charged in Dallas County


Circuit Court with 2nd degree forgery and theft of property. On October 24th


of 2016, Cross..an employee of Sparky's convenience store at Sparkman at the


time..is alleged to have changed the amount of money on a receipt for a


purchase made at the store and pocketed the money.
