02/13/17  Children of Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime Meets Tonight In Cleveland County

The Call of Cleveland county will meet tonight at 6pm at Bethel No. 1, about a mile and a half north of U.S. 79 on state highway 35.

The Cleveland County Herald reports that of the children from Cleveland County placed in foster care by the state, about 83 percent of those not placed with a family ended up in some place away from friends and school due to the lack of foster homes in the county. That's the problem CALL in Cleveland County intends to address.

CALL in Cleveland County is part of a statewide Christian ministry called The Call, which is an acronym for “Children of Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime”. It's not affiliated with any one denomination or church.

According to its website, the purpose of THE CALL is to “educate, equip, and encourage the Christian community to provide a future and hope for children in foster care in Arkansas.” For more information, contact Lisa Prescott at 870-818-3040 or Carlotta Thompson at 870-489-0711.
