74 year old Walter S. “Ham” Waddle of White Hall died Friday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Ham spent his entire life serving the residents of Jefferson County.

His career included working as a surveyor for AP&L, now Entergy, serving as a firefighter for the Pine Bluff Fire Department and Pine Bluff Arsenal. He worked as deputy sheriff for Jefferson County.

After retirement, Ham worked as a delivery driver for Small's Florist before becoming a member of the Ralph Robinson and Son family on September 1, 2001. At Robinson's Ham became a vital part time associate who served families for over 15 years until his death. He also served on the Watson Chapel School board for 8 years and was the current Chairman of the Board of the Pine Bluff Arsenal Federal Credit Union.

Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Howard Loetscher and Reverend Todd Howard officiating. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery at Grapevine. Visitation is this morning from 9:30 till time of service at the church. Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
