Fordyce on the Cotton Belt will have a new chairman this year. The announcement was made by current chairman Joe Bill Meador, who's been heading up Fordyce on the Cotton Belt for about 30 years.

Trammel says he's looking forward to the job and has already had lots of suggestions on what he might or might not do.

This years Fordyce on the Cotton Belt will be held April 18 through 22.  In addition to the announcement about a new chairman for this year's festival, there will be a parade Marshall this year from the Smithsonian Institute.  Agnes Phillips, director of the Dallas County Museum, said Fordyce has been selected as one of the towns of fewer than 12 thousand residents, to host the "Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America".

The Museum on Main Street exhibit will remain in Fordyce for 6 weeks. The ribbon cutting for the exhibit will be Saturday, April 22, the last day of this years Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival. Mike Trammel will be updating us on the events planned for this years festival in the coming weeks.
