01/31/17  Today Is Deadline To Signup For Obama Care

Today is the deadline to get signed up to purchase health insurance to avoid paying a fine. The insurance is available through the state's My Arkansas Insurance Individual Marketplace. Uninsured Arkansans may face federally mandated penalties on 2017 tax returns of up to $695.00 per person.

Cherly Gardner, executive director of Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace says those currently with health insurance coverage through the marketplace can also update their plans or change insurers for 2017.

After today, consumers can enroll or change plans only if they qualify for a special enrollment period due to certain life events such a losing coverage, moving or getting married.
