01/27/17  Longtime Warren Broadcaster Dies In Auto Accident

90 year old Weldon Sledge of Warren, former owner of radio station KWRF, died in a two car crash in Chicot county yesterday. According to a preliminary State Police report, a 2007 Cadillac driven by 25 year old Elbert C Parks of Greenville, Mississippi was traveling north on U.S. 65 and a 2010 Chevy, driven by Sledge was traveling south on 65 in the northbound lane and the two collided. Both drivers died at the scene of the crash.

The weather conditions were clear, the roadway dry at the time of the crash yesterday morning at 10:15. State Trooper Bryson Schulz investigated the crash. The deaths were the 29 and 30 traffic deaths in Arkansas so far this year. Funeral services for Sledge are pending at Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.
