01/20/17  Two injured in car crash near Thornton

A two vehicle crash occurred early yesterday morning at the outskirts of Thornton. According to State Trooper Brian Dixon, the crash occurred around 6:55 yesterday morning at the 79-B and 79-North intersection at Thornton.

Dixon said a 2005 Ford Escape, driven by Amber Gee, ran the stop sign at the 79-B intersection with 79-north, and her vehicle was broadsided by a 2007 Chrysler 300 driven by Samuel Jones, who was headed south on 79.

Both were taken to Ouachita County Medical Center for treatment. The injuries were not thought to be life threatening. The addresses of those involved in the crash were not available. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Corporal Brian Dixon of the State Police investigated the crash.
