01/16/17  Camden Police Report

On January 4, early In the morning, Camden Police Sgt Jimmy Plyler was sitting at the intersection of U.S. 79 and Bradley Ferry Road in Camden when a vehicle approached from the rear, Plyler noticed it didn't have a rear license plate light and he made a traffic stop. The vehicle was occupied by 51 year old Stevie Glasson, the driver and Eliza Rucker a passenger. When asked for proof of insurance and ID, Rucker stated there was no insurance on the vehicle and Glasson stated he didn't have his license on him.

While making a check on the two, Glasson got out of the vehicle claiming he needed to check under the hood and took off running through the woods behind Hickory Hutt. A brief search was made for Glasson and he was not located.  Rucker did not have a valid drivers license and said the vehicle belonged to her mother. Rucker was released to her family and the vehicle impounded. Rucker was listed as an absconder in ACIC..and was on parole. Glasson was charged with fleeing, driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance and no license plate lights. Nothing in the report to indicate when or if he was taken into custody.

On December 28,  27 year old Etta Tate Jr. of Camden was charged by police with refusal to submit to arrest. Police went to 1314 Ronald Drive in Camden to serve a warrant on Tate for 3rd degree battery. Tate resisted officers trying to take him into custody but he relented when threatened with K-9 Tyson.
