01/10/17   6 Days 7 Fatalities on Arkansas Highways

The 7^th highway traffic fatality of 2017 was recorded on Friday in St. Francis County. State Police report, 46 year old Otis D. Love of  Memphis, Tennessee was killed when his 2001 Ford F-150 pickup, westbound on I-40 went out of control..at mile marker 254. The truck then struck a bridge barrier on the outside lane then crossed both westbound lanes and struck the bridge barrier on the inside lane, bouncing back into the westbound lanes where his vehicle was struck by a westbound 2014 Kenworth truck.

The driver of the truck was not identified in the report.

It was snowing at the time of the crash and road conditions wet, at 9:45 Friday morning. Trooper First Class Jason Murphy of the State Police investigated.
