01/03/17   Cleveland County Historical Society Focuses On Native Son, Johnny Cash

The life and times of Johnny Cash in Cleveland County will be the subject of a new Cleveland County Historical society journal or book. The society has launched a drive to collect stories and pictures of Johnny Cash as they relate to Cleveland County.

These will be used in a journal or book to highlight his beginnings in Cleveland County and the many times that he came back to attend family reunions or to hunt and fish.

If you are a relative of Johnny Cash the Cleveland County Historical Society would also like to have that information. Anyone with pictures or stories to share can contact Louise Mitchell, Rufus Buie or Irene Wooley. You can also drop off information at the Cleveland County Library or Cleveland County Herald.

Deadline for submission of the pictures and stories is Wednesday February 8.
