01/03/17   Sparkman Woman Charged In Domestic Case

On November 25, Dallas County Chief Deputy Josh McMullens and Deputy Ryan Coleman were dispatched to Sparkman on a domestic battery call. The caller indicated that Somer Johnson had just run over a man with her vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, the deputies were told by a witness that he saw Somer Johnson run over her boyfriend, twice. The boyfriend was later identified as Geoffrey Hall.

Johnson was stopped by deputy Coleman close to her residence. She admitted to Coleman that she had run over her boyfriend and the knife she had used to cut him during an argument was also in her vehicle. Coleman found a butcher knife in Johnson's vehicle.

Johnson said someone had given her the meth Coleman found in the vehicle and she had it a few days. Hall told investigators he and Johnson had gotten into an argument inside her residence and he started packing his bags and Johnson assaulted him with a  stick until it broke and then got a knife and tried to assault him with that. Hall left carrying his bags, Johnson followed in her car and knocked him down. Hall said he picked up his stuff and started walking again and she ran over him a second time. Johnson claims she only ran over him once.

Johnson was charged domestic battery in the second degree and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
