12/28/16   Two Bearden Residents Charged With Shoplifting

 

Two Bearden residents have been charged with shoplifting at Wal-Mart in Camden. According to a Camden Police Report, on December 20,  Camden police officer Dillion Mcgee was dispatched to Wal-Mart on a report of a man walking through the parking lot looking inside car windows.

McGee and another officer made contact with the man, identified as 36 year old John Mclain. McClain stated he and his girl friend Crystal Johnston had come to Wal-Mart with a friend and he was trying to find his friend. McClain said he was shopping for a headlight bulb. The bulb was found inside McClain's jacket pocket.

The officer was informed by the store manager that Johnston attempted to get a refund on merchandise she hadn't purchased from the store. Johnston was caught on camera putting jewelry into her purse. Total value of merchandise taken was $376.00. McClain and Johnston were given a court date of January 4.
